CUSTIS :"Our company began to use MediaWiki in 2004. Many organizations considered only classic documentation tools and strongly regulated documentation procedures at that time - for example, SGML Docbook, LaTeX and various proprietary tools. Knowledge bases were often represented only by SGML project documentation, heaps of Word and CHM documents on shared disks, long rolls of e-mail and even comments in bugtrackers. We decided to use MediaWiki and since then, thanks to its excellent extensibility and simplicity of creating a new content, MediaWiki became a powerful platform for corporate knowledge base with a lot of features. We maintain our own stable MediaWiki distribution named Mediawiki4Intranet; we've made it free & opensource project so other people and companies could also use and support our improvements. For all that, in average, only one employee supports and improves it on a full-time basis.
Now, in the beginning of the year 2013, almost 200 employees work at CUSTIS, and our knowledge base consists of 12 running Mediawiki4Intranet instances with more than 50000 articles.

Intel Corporation
Intel Corporation (Wikipedia article):"I implemented an instance of MediaWiki for use by all 100,000+ employees of the company.
It's called Intelpedia, and was created in November 2005.
In the first year of life, it quickly grew to over 10,000 pages, and almost 3,000 registered contributors.
It averages about 8,000 views and 150 edits per day.
Intelpedia was featured at Wikimania 2006, as part of the organizational use of MediaWiki, and was also featured in a Wall Street Journal article on the same topic."

End Point Corporation :"We use MediaWiki for our private intranet to keep track of much of our business.
We have added some customizations (HTTP basic auth logins, a 'watch everything' option) and have installed MediaWiki for several of our clients as well.
Our experience has been good.
What attracted us to MediaWiki is that its markup format is now widely known due to the popularity of Wikipedia, and we wanted to make it easy for users to edit pages.
Installation was fairly straightforward, although some configuration that doesn't match Wikipedia's needs (such as a closed login-only site) wasn't simple, and patches that the developers think won't ever be used by Wikipedia have not been accepted.
But running MediaWiki has been a breeze.
